Multi-cultural Weddings

There are no two weddings that are the same, because there are no two couples that are the same! In in the couple there are two individuals coming from two unique life experiences!

When two people come together from different backgrounds and cultures it is wonderful to incorporate their rituals in the wedding ceremony.

Unique wedding rituals make the ceremony personal and help you connect to your culture and continue the traditions for the future.

For example in Bulgaria we include bread in the wedding ceremony in a fun and meaningful way. One of the traditions is for the mother of the bride to bake or buy a ritual bread and to give pieces of it dipped in honey to the couple and the guests. It symbolises the mother welcoming the new members of the family and sweetening the start of the new family life with the honey. My mother did that at our wedding and it was really meaningful for me as a Bulgarian, and for the Irish guests it was really interesting and unique and they were intrigued!

Celebrant let wedding ceremony allows for that and I love learning about your cultures and rituals.

What unique rituals do you know of and would like to share?
